American and British confusion – Russia can only last 14 days – Indy News

Russian troops entered Ukraine in February

When I saw this headline today I assumed it came from Babylon B (a terribly satirical blog) – Russia has 14 days to break the Ukrainian resistance. No. It was from the New York Post. Here is a snippet of that article:

A new report on Tuesday states that Russian troops facing stiff opposition from Ukrainian forces may only be able to sustain their offensive for another 10 days to two weeks as their condition deteriorates due to equipment and manpower shortages.

The Daily Mail, citing UK defense sources, reported that the Russian army had “fled” to Ukraine’s defense and predicted that “Ukraine’s resistance should be greater than Russia’s invading force” within days.

If you believe this nonsense, send me your name and address. I have a bridge to sell you in Kiev. The reality here is that there is a no-fly zone over Ukraine and it is imposed by Russia.

This article is so irrational and out of touch with reality that it should be addressed. I’ll start by asking two questions:

How many times in the last 19 days has a Ukrainian regiment or battalion deployed a comparative Russian unit and forced the Russians to retreat?
How many times in the last 19 days have Ukrainian artillery or fixed / rotary wing aircraft attacked and destroyed a Russian military column?

The answer to both is – neither. Zero ZIPPO Zilch.

I put it this way – it took 3 weeks for the “powerful” US military machine to occupy Baghdad when the skies were dominated and a desperate, ragtag faced the Iraqi army. Boy, we pushed our chests to kill those little kids.

Consider what Russia has done. They occupy an area larger than the size of the United Kingdom. The Russians did it in less than three weeks. They now surround Kharkiv and Kyiv. They have cut and destroyed the remnants of the Ukrainian army in the eastern half of the country. The Ukrainian army no longer has the capacity to function as a modern army. The Ukrainians who have decided to continue the war will do so as rebels or guerrillas.

Russia has destroyed Ukraine’s air force and its ground-based radar and its war bases. Russia is now in de facto control of Mariupol (a major Black Sea port) and is advancing on Odessa.

Russia has also destroyed a key Ukrainian military base in western Ukraine near the Poland-Yavoriv border.

Russia launched a missile strike on a military base in western Ukraine on Sunday, killing at least 35 people at an installation that served as a key hub for co-operation between Ukraine and its defense-supporting NATO countries. The barrage marked the escalation of the Moscow offensive and led to dangerous fighting near the Polish border.

The attack, near a NATO member state, raised the possibility of the alliance fighting and was heavy with the symbolism of a conflict that revived the old Cold War rivalry and threatened to rewrite the current world security system.

The unspoken story is that a number of CIA contractors and military special forces advisers were killed and wounded in the strike. I believe the death toll is much higher. It was not your general strike on a worldly basis. This facility was the focal point of Western arms procurement and training of Ukrainian and mercenary soldiers to use them.

Russia is acting as a big boa constrictor that is systematically depriving the Ukrainian government of its ability to fight Russia. Without wind power and effective artillery and cruise missiles, Ukraine is now the equivalent of a boxer with both eyes closed and a savagely broken nose. The fight is not going the way of Ukraine.

Here’s a great video commentary on the current situation and what could happen:
