Appearing on the Fox Business Network Vernie & Co. On Thursday morning, Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center, previewed an upcoming MRC poll that shows that the leftist media is trying to blame everyone and everything for the high gas prices, except for President Biden’s “incompetent” energy policy. Bozel called for environmental “encouragement” within the administration.
“Look at this tweet, it comes from President Biden, he is blaming Putin and the oil companies for the high gas prices,” host Stuart Verni noted at the top of the segment. He then turned to Bozel and said in surprise: “Brent, is the media buying the president’s story that it is the oil company and the price increase and that Putin is talking about gas prices?”
Bozel highlighted recent numbers from the MRC on coverage of the issue after the leftist media pointed out how the “gas company bought, the oil company’s story for 50 years”.

Verni called those responsible for the increase in fuel costs:

I can’t read it completely, but what he’s saying is, be careful, don’t raise the price. Let’s take Brent Bozel, he’s our media observer today. Brent, is the media buying the president’s story that it is the oil company and the price increase and that Putin is talking about gas prices?
Brent Bozel: Well, they bought the gas company, the story of the oil company for 50 years.
VARNEY: Yeah, that’s true.
Bozel: This is an old Shiboleth that Bamra used. Every time this happens they blame the oil companies and they run away from it. And the information is out and it’s nonsense.
Putting that aside, who is the media blaming? Stuart, we’re crunching numbers right now, but I’ll give you a taste of what we’re finding. We need to remember that. How quickly we forget that a year ago we were power independent as a nation. A year ago, we didn’t have to worry about this kind of thing. A year ago, we almost recorded lower petrol prices because we were energy independent. Joe Biden is blaming everyone. He is blaming the Russians, he is blaming the Saudis, he is blaming the oil companies, he is blaming the epidemic, he is blaming everyone except his own policy. And his policies have shut down Keystone, they have stopped offshore drilling, they have gone behind the fracking industry, they have got huge regulations, huge new taxes and his whole administration is saying every day, we want to end fossil fuels. And so he turned around and blamed the gas companies.
VARNEY: Yes, right. At the moment Russia declares war on Ukraine and the world is facing it, what is John Kerry saying? “Oh, my God, what is this going to do for climate change?”
VARNEY: Right, right.
Bozel: You want to hit the wall yourself, but that’s their worldview.
Verni: He actually said John Kerry – he told the BBC he hoped Mr Putin understood his climate responsibility. That was his expression. Priceless, isn’t it?
Bozel: Yes, yes. He was probably in his super yacht when he was saying this.
VARNEY: I don’t think he’s got a super yacht, it’s not 500 feet long, I think it’s a mere 100. But what do I know? I mean, I didn’t go to his yacht, Period.
