During a break in the confirmation hearing of Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson on Tuesday afternoon, CNN Newsroom Criticism and dismissal questions from Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Critical Theory (CRT) “Down the line” And “Rick[ing] Frustration ” From “A clown” WHO “Perform a Performance” Inside “Surreal.”

Philip: – Only in terms of the level of frustration that it seemed as if he was incredibly answering questions, you know, in a fair way. This is exactly the kind of thing I think some Republicans were concerned about because Senator Cruz had a problem with this line asking him about Georgetown Day School and it gave him a chance to explain that when he was socializing with Georgetown Day School Speaking of justice, because that school was clearly established to unite schools at a time when the law required that public schools should be racially segregated. So, he made a softball for her so that all these questions are really lost and many Republicans worry that it is real, just embarrassing. It doesn’t lead to anything of substance and she obviously, you know, I think, especially, because some of it has to do with the school her kids went to or goes to. I think there was obviously some tension but he answered all the questions.
But Philip jumped on the bandwagon of what was acceptable at the Supreme Court’s confirmation hearing:
And, at the end of the day, Ted Cruz took a picture of a picture book and I think, in the context of the Supreme Court nomination, what seems to be important in the big plan of things seems to be below his line.
Left-handed Grio sided with Natasha Alford, a political analyst at Blackwell CNN, who grabbed it. “Cruz promised he wouldn’t be a political circus, and he’s a clown, isn’t he? He – he’s an actor. Most of what he said now got into the American culture war.”
The claim was not Republican “Actually” To talk “About his record” But instead tied him up “Really Controversial” Problem, Alford further complained: “[T]Distortion here. There is a grip. The cherries are picked and it’s all frustrating. “
Ahead of a commercial break, Blackwell and senior legal analyst Eli Honig highlighted his record on punishment for child sex offenders.

3:44 pm EastJeffrey Tubin: Well, bottom line, I think Judge Jackson is in good shape. There is nothing that can change a yes-to-no vote. There are many Republicans who are trying to make political points. Some of which was at his expense. Some of which were at the expense of the Democratic Party. During this extensive discussion of the summer reading list at Georgetown Day School, we took a surreal journey while questioning Ted Cruz. Whose relevance was really hard to see. But I think, in general, you can see that the judge is very wise, very calm, very thoughtful and someone who knows a lot more about the law than these senators.
Victor Blackwell: All right. Let’s take another trip down the reading list that summer and get a reminder for those who joined us later. This is Senator Ted Cruz. He blew up pictures from these Georgetown Day School children’s books where we know – and there the judge is taking a break – he is on the board of trustees of Georgetown Day School. Here is what we heard from Senator Ted Cruz.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) If you look at the Georgetown Day school curriculum, it is full of critical race theory and overflows, among the books that have been allocated or recommended – [SCREEN WIPE] – They’ve included a book called Abram Candy’s Anti-Resist Baby. And there are parts of this book that I think are really significant. A section of the book states that children are taught to be racist or anti-racist. There is no neutrality. Another part of the book, they advise children to admit when they are racist. Now, this is a book that is taught at Georgetown Day School for students ages four to seven, from pre-K to second grade. Do you agree with the book that is being taught that children are racist?
Ketanji Brown Jackson: Senator, I don’t believe any child should feel that they are racist or that they are not valued or even though they are inferior.
Blackwell: Abby Phillip, the GOP telegraphed that this punch would come. They tweeted, you know, scratching KBJ and writing CRT instead. What do you think about this exchange we just saw?

Blackwell: Natasha, you’ve been sitting here with me for the last hour and 40 minutes, and you’ve said it many times, it’s a private school. What is your reaction to what you saw there?
Natasha Alford: Well, you know, Ted Cruz promised not to be a political circus and he’s a clown, right? He – he made a performance. Much of what he said now got to the American culture war. It wasn’t about Judge Jackson and that’s what it felt – that’s what I feel is often criticized and questioned by GOP senators that it’s not really about his record. This is how we can take matters that are really controversial and somehow try to tie them to it, softening – leniency towards crime or even CRT, which he mentioned in long quotes like criminal law or constitutional law. So, there is distortion. There is a grip. The quote has cherry picking and it just sorts out all the frustration reeks.
Blackwell: Eli, let’s get to the realm of child pornography. Ted Cruz said he saw an activism and support in Judge Jackson because he was concerned about sex offenders, sex offenders. Is he trying to argue that he is a pro-child porn accused? Like what? I don’t know – I don’t know what the question line was specifically. Did you pick up
Eli Honig: It almost seemed to me that what he was trying to do was a ridiculous line of attack. This whole argument is very confusing and I say it politely, the way I say the phrase, but let me explain why. In each federal criminal case, the judge must calculate the penalty guidelines. This is a big thick book. You need to run the number. And then it tells you that the sentence range suggested here. It is not mandatory, but the judge must be consulted. However, the reality is that there is a broad consensus across the country, with Democrats, Republicans, Liberals, Conservatives, the numbers – not unanimous, but those numbers – tend to be too high for child pornography, and if you look at the numbers, in about 59 percent of all cases, Judges across the country sentenced below the recommended limits. And we’ve seen how Judge Jackson did it in some cases but not in all. And he – I think his answer was correct. “In each case, they have seized it, despite obstacles we can scarcely imagine,” he said.
Blackwell: Well, we know Senator Josh Howley will come and bring this to Judge Jackson. He did say that this would be part of his interrogation.
