Idaho Gov. candidate Amon Bundy was arrested Saturday for refusing to leave a hospital.
Bundy was apparently protesting a 10-month-old baby who was taken to hospital by Meridian police after receiving a health and wellness referral reference.
The child was “suffering from severe malnutrition,” Meridian police said in a statement.
“The child was able to gain considerable weight while under medical care and on Friday, March 4, 2022, the child was left in the care of his parents,” the police department statement continued. “Initially during a follow-up appointment, this week it was determined that the baby had lost a significant amount of weight again and when the parents canceled the next follow-up appointment and were not found, Meridian police were contacted and the child’s condition was reported. Was given. Left untreated, it can lead to serious injury or even death. “
The child’s father reportedly agreed to take the child for examination, but did not appear.
When police tried to examine the child, the department said the parents were uncooperative and would not allow officers to examine the welfare.
“Meridian police then received a warrant to enter the house, but officers discovered that the parents and the child had left before examining the child. Garden City police found a car driven by the child’s father and stopped the traffic. Meridian police took the child into custody in the 3700 block of Chinden Blovidi, Garden City, Idaho, and the child was taken to St. Luke’s Meridian for treatment, “the statement continued.
The department said Bundy and some of his followers were present when the child was receiving medical treatment at the hospital.

Bundy insisted that the police were taking the child into a case of medical abuse and violation of parental rights.
The family maintains that the mother simply missed an emergency doctor’s appointment.
Bundy was detained at the Ginger County Jail for trespassing.
Bundy is perhaps most infamous for the 2014 armed clash between his father, a supporter of cattle rancher Cliven Bundy, and a law enforcement official over a land dispute. He also made headlines in 2016 for stagnation at the Oregon Wildlife Sanctuary.
In 2021, Bundy’s supporters stormed a hospital in support of a woman claiming her mother had been “medically abducted”. They eventually won and the woman was released.
Bundy refused to wear a mask to his son’s high school football game in 2020, prompting officials to ask him to finish it in half.
