Joe Manchin has announced that he would like to vote for the Radical Supreme Court

Sen. Joe Manchin (DWV) announced Friday that he would like to vote to confirm the nomination of Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Manchin posted his announcement on Twitter, “After meeting with Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, considering his record, and closely observing his testimony and questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, I have decided that I would like to vote for his nomination to serve on the Supreme Court. My full statement: “

Manchin said he had “closely monitored” (edit) Jackson’s confirmation hearing this week but did not comment on whether Jackson had kept his soft on the record of child pornography offenders or whether he was unable to say what a woman he was.

Manchin does not sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee, so he cannot vote for Jackson until his nomination reaches the Senate. The Equally Divided Judicial Committee (11-11) is set to vote April 4 in the full Senate by the expected vote on April 8, revealing more about Jackson’s radical record (suspicious, but possible), giving Manchin time to change his mind. The statement said, “I want to vote for his nomination”, not ‘I will’.

A tie vote on the committee would require a full Senate majority vote to bring Jackson out of the nomination committee. Orange Harris will be able to vote to break the tie in the 50-50 Senate.

Minority leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced his opposition to Jackson on Thursday, sending an initial signal to Republicans to oppose Jackson’s confirmation.

Post Joe Manchin has announced that he wants to vote for Radical Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson to make his first appearance at The Gateway Pond.
