Judge suspends DC law that allows minors to be vaccinated without parental consent –

A federal judge has temporarily suspended a DC law that allows minors to be vaccinated without parental consent.

District Non-compliance with the 2020 Vaccine Amendment Act allows children under the age of 11 to be vaccinated without their parents knowing.

The case was brought before a federal judge last year for two lawsuits filed by the parents.

According to a report in The Hill, a lawsuit was filed by the teenager’s parents at a public charter school. The complaint alleges that the school “created a pressure-cooker environment, tempting and psychologically manipulating” their children to “deny their parents and vaccinate against their parents’ wishes”.

“The father complained that his child was ‘medically weak’ and developed autoimmunity, alopecia (severe hair loss), asthma and eczema after receiving the vaccine. As a result, he said he had a strong religious belief that “no foreign substance should enter his son’s body that could harm him,” and objected to the COVID-19 vaccine as well as all standard childhood vaccines. The report has been explained. “The religion of the father was not identified in the lawsuit. It was filed by Children’s Health Defense, an organization run by anti-vaccination activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The second lawsuit was filed by a Maryland family whose child went to DC for vaccinations to be able to attend a summer camp despite their religious exemptions.

Judge Trevor McFadden ruled in both cases that the law targets religious guardians because it hides the status of vaccinating children from religious exemptions.

McFadden writes that his administration “will not prevent children from being vaccinated. Or it will not stop the district from advertising the importance of vaccines, encouraging vaccinations and setting up vaccine clinics in schools. The only effect will be that children will be unable to decide to vaccinate without their parents’ consent . ”
