(CNN) More than two decades after Mike Tyson cut off a part of Evander Holyfield’s ear in the 1997 WBA Heavyweight Championship fight, the legendary boxer has released a line of edible things in the shape of an ear.
Cannabis-infected gummy bears are called “mic bites” in honor of Tyson’s most infamous moment.
Holyfield, the only four-time world heavyweight champion, defeated Tyson at the 1996 MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The following year, during their highly anticipated rematch, Tyson cut a small portion of Holyfield’s ear, spitting on the canvas. And was immediately disqualified. The tragic event again marked the match as one of the most bizarre fights in the history of boxing.
Tyson, who was the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title, has launched several marijuana-related ventures in recent years. Tyson 2.0, the publishing house of “Mike Bites” describes itself as “a major marijuana company consisting of legendary boxers, entrepreneurs and icon Mike Tyson.” By 2021, the company has expanded its sales to more than 100 locations in California.
