Pennsylvania Senators Jack Corman and Chris Dosh file petition to complete second

HARRISBURG – Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman (R-Bellefonte) and Senate Intergovernmental Steering Committee Chairman Chris Dush (R-Jefferson) issued the following statement today after the committee filed a petition to compel the State Department to comply with a subpoena for relevant information. Investigation:

“In the last few months since our investigation began, the Wolf Administration, the Senate Democrats, and Attorney General Shapiro have unjustly denied an equitable branch of government the tools needed to correct the weaknesses of our electoral system. Today’s legal action is ultimately aimed at ending their unnecessary delays and continuing obstruction.

“It is an embarrassment to our Commonwealth that the State Department still refuses to comply with a legal, legitimate subpona from a co-equal branch of government. They should not be allowed to give a thumbs up to the other two branches of government including impunity.

“Millions of Pennsylvanians have lost confidence in our election. They deserve an electoral system that they can trust and that can only happen with complete transparency. We will not stop fighting to improve our voting system and repair public confidence in our elections – no matter how much our opponents try to obstruct, obscure and deceive the public about the intent of the investigation. “
